X5 phone

Can anyone help. I purchased a 2001 X5 with comms pack minus the phone. I was told that the Motorola V50 was compatible. I bought one....the next day my battery was flat. Is this related?

Flat battery

My X5 battery went flat...may be a coincidence but someone did say that although I have a compatible phone some functions are not the same as a BMW Motorola phone.....the battery may be drained on the X5.

Yes you have to have the BMW motorola phone , it has additional software in it which , whe n fully charged cuts off power from the car.
You know if you have a BMW phone cos when you switch the phone on the BMW logo comes up on the phone

My X5 was advertised as comms pack...assume it has it as when phone plugged in all functions work. The phone was missing so I bought a Motorola V50 which is compatible but no BMW software. All works fine except question mark on drain on battery.

My X died the next day I plugged the new phone in. There is a common problem here with the phone option. I had to buy a new battery and took phone out. Cost me 120 bucks with labor and a diagnostic check from Sears. Had no choice just wanted to be safe then sorry.

"Anybody want a BMW Motorola starteck phone"? I have one brand new, will sell to anyone for $50.00..... I'll even pay for shipping...

Khmer, it is digital. Its brand new, my guy from BMW gave me this phone, he said some guy forgot to pick it up from the parts dept. so he just gave it to me, for 50 bucks. Before I toss it out the door when I attempt to do my spring cleaning, thats providing my wife doesn't get a hold of it first, then we are both screwed....

Cool

Old fashioned - but it works!

The Worlds best cell-phone Nokia 6310i.

Here is mine (well not the same colour - but still).
