What is the latest transmission software?

The local dealer updated my transmission software per my request after I experienced the well documented transmission clunk that causes the sensation of being rear ended.

Here is how the invoice reads.
PERFORMED SIB 240106 REPROGRAMMED EGS
Does anyone know if this is the latest version for the E53 4.8is?

As many have posted in the past, this seemed to take care of the problem at first. However, the intermediate clunk is back when accelerating from a stop.

From what I have read, it sounds like I need to have them flash the transmission software again.
Did this permanently fix the problem for those who had the transmission flashed a 2nd time?

My '05 has the latest - and it's certianly not the greatest. The 4.8is software is just sucky and aparently there is/will be no fix since the E53 is done. I switched from a 2004 3.0 that was silky smooth and consistent with every single shift - it's a real shame that they can do one tranny so well, and another so badly.

Do you know the version and or SIB #?

NINCHS: I think all have the dealer flash the trans software again before trying aftermarket software.
If that doesn't work, any aftermarket suggestions? I didn't find anything on the DINAN website.

Good Idea. Hopefully Dinan will be coming out with it soon. Rumors have the Chip for the 4.8 coming out in the next 6 months, my guess is the tranny software would follow soon after. Right now its only avaliable up to 2003.

Latest version is v.23. Mine is in the shop now for same problem after reprogram. v.23 is an improvement but not a fix. The new Dinan tranny softwareis better by report on the 540's. X5 version to be tested soon.
