HID Headlight Bracket

Hi all, I am going to do the HID xenon upgrade for my X5. One question I need to clarify before I start, is the support bracket for HID headlights same with the one for halogen headlights? Please see the picture for illustration.

Halogen headlights does not have bracket, there are no ballasts for halogen headlights.

I am sorry but I am afraid that you are wrong. It does have a bracket lays beneath halogen headlight.

Hm, strange... I didn't notice that in my halogens. Maybe I should look carefully.

I think the brackets are the same. In the parts catalog, there is no differentiation. You might want to confirm with your local dealer's parts dept.

Once you remove the light unit leaving the carrier in the vehicle (See my article.) you will find there is a built in recess to take the OEM ballast. All you need is the retaining bracket and screw for it. (Again, see article for part numbers.)
