OEM Sirius Installation Issues

Well, I was able to get a Sirius receiver from eBay (P/N 140) and I hooked it all up but I don't get the SIRIUS selection on my radio. I have an 01 but I have the Business CD and the version is SW 46-00-50, so it should be fine according to all the docs. I thought I had the right tuner version since it already scrolls the display when I am on FM stations that broadcast channel/song info but maybe I am wrong with that thinking.

Can anyone assist me with troubleshooting? I have the CD Changer and that powers up without an issue and I get power at the connectors at the back of the unit.

Can the guys at Circle BMW help me with getting an upgrade to my tuner if necessary?

Nope, not DSP. What extras do I need for the 01?

I do have a subscription and haven't switched my ESNs yet, but I don't even have the MODE choice for SIRIUS.

Hmm, not sure, the one article made it seem like you could just get a firmware update, maybe I'm mistaken though.

there's only one person i've read that was able to send his
radio module in for such update. that was Janix, JMH, i think.
the only reason he was able to do it is because, i think, he knew
a BMW Engineer. i could be wrong though. u can read about it
here.

Man, they don't make this easy. I won't use one of those devices that removes CD Changer functionality either. He talks about the tuner module in the back. Hmmm, I wonder which part number and I wonder if that's the part I can buy an upgraded version of.

I believe that is correct. Martin has been selling the radio tuner upgrade.
