Question Where can i get a New Coolant tank? for an 02 4.4 X5?

Well the time has come to get a new coolant tank My coolant tank now has a leak and is leaking coolant all over my motor So i would like to know where i can get a new one and how i fit the tank? As i like in Australia my car is a right hand drive if this makes any difference.

I just replaced mine on a 2001 4.4. The most expensive part was the coolant. Total cost about $160 USD from the dealer. Coolant, 3 gallons @ $21 USD each. I also replaced the cap.

Well in America they have BMW wreaking yards where something like this may be purchased but you take a chance doing that. All in all buying BMW parts is a BMW thing where the parts are exclusive to BMW. My advice is start saving your money because as long as you own a BMW your gonna have to keep it up and in all honesty the choices are few. You buy OEM parts and do the labor yourself or you swallow your pride and plunk down the money. Reality is reality. Expensive cars require expensive parts.

The reason i dont want to pay big bucks for it is because its a small leak its not like it is pissing out alot of oil i will buy a new one when it breaks but for the time being i wouldnt like to spend to much money on it.

If you really want to be cheap you could try epoxy or the all mighty "Bars Leaks." Buying something like that from a wrecking yard is a crap shoot. You may just buy one thats already leaking. I would have to agree with Quick Silver, if you want to fix it correctly "expensive cars, expensive Parts."
