how about this idea?
during center console trim installation, had to remove whole center console, and when I was trying to remove it, I found this. under your arm rest, after remove storge box, there is an air duct which provide cool/hot air to rear fresh-air grill. (It's a just tube which you can remove and install easily) ![]() if I cut/slide and connect another duct to storge box somehow, cool/hot air will flow to storge box also when you turn your air conditioner or heater. how does it sound? I do turn on air conditioner during summer anyway, so shouldn't it keep your drink cold? (not ice cold but still cold!) let me try it and find out if it works when I get new air duct and storge box.

Sounds like it might work!! I want to try and make chilled cup holders to keep you cans cold and maybe heated too for coffee....

I think i am going to try and buy a small fridge and put in behind the rear passenger armrest. it opens anyway to fit skis and shit.

The E39 has an option for a rear mounted can fridge. It is finished exactly the same as the rest of the interior with matching wood trim and goes between the rear seat and the center console (on top of the hump). It's a real fridge and is shaped to hold 2 cans and 2 cans only. When closed, it just looks like an extension of the center console (albeit nicer cause it's finished in wood, not leather or pleather)
The only other BMW that I know of that has the fridge is the E65/66. It has a champagne cooler in the trunk with access through what would be the ski pass through/center armrest. |

The new RR has it on the front arm rest. look in to it and maybe you can fit it to your x5.
