longevity of clear bra?

hi i've been reading here that a lot of people have gotten clear bras along with their rides and i think its a good idea. just wondering though, how long until the bra starts to peel if? if ever.

i ask because some of the pics members posted you can see the lines on the hood, so after many car washes and the weather won't water begin to sort of make the edges of the bra start to come off? thanks.

by the way can you apply the same protective film on your wind shield to protect it from rock chips as well?

I assume you're talking about the 3M product. . .I bought a used X3 and the previous owner had this done at the dealership. I never really notice it and it covers every nook and cranny on the hood, mirrors, doors, etc. It has not peeled at all (2 years) and supposedly you can wax it/treat it like paint. My only issue is that there appears to be water spots on it at all times and bug marks do not come off easily. This is a small price to pay knowing there a no chips on the hood.

I have had 3 cars now with Clear Bras and none of them peeled or discolored. As far as the doing it to the windshield, I've never heard of anyone doing it, but I guess it could be done if it can adhere to glass. There's no pre-cut kit for it obviously, so you'll have to find someone who can cut if for you which may get expensive.

I do have 1 Clear Bra that has been slightly torn from a rock, but didn't affect the paint. If that were to happen to the windshield, I doubt your wipers would do much for you when it rains, plus you risk getting water under the bra, which will cause it to peel.
