Can I clear "check brake linings" w/ OBDII ????

Just changed brake pads, the "check brake linings" light and the red "brake" light are still on.
Can they be cleared with an OBDII reader or is this done with a dealer computer?
Thanks

IIRC this is caused by the brake sensors. These sensors are a one time use sensor and once they go odd, they must be replaced.

Did you replace the brake wear sensors? Once the sensors have been tripped (actually worn through), they have to be replaced. You can get them at the dealer or your local car parts store.

For future reference, and others who may read this, you don't need to do the scan. Once the sensors are replaced, the light will go out after a short timer elapses.

Glad you got it sorted.

EDIT: According to the article on the home page, you just need to put the key in position 2 for 30 seconds, without starting the vehicle, to reset the light. I don't recall doing that, I thought I just drove it, but I may be mistaken.

thanks, I guess that the time that plugged the scanner in was the same as it took to reset itself.
thanks
