Storing X5 for Summer - Need Advice

Hi,

I'm storing my X5 for the summer and wanted advice on what needs to be done:

- Optimal storage tire pressure to prevent flat spotting?
- Battery Maintainer?
- Anything else?

Thanks

-I would change the oil&filter so it's not sitting with
a crankcase full of old stuff.
-I pumped my sitting X's tires to 40+; put a sticky on
your steer wheel to remind you to deflate.
-I ran a Battery Tender via a plug-in appliance
timer, to come on once per week for 12 hours.
-I poured in a bunch of Stabil, drove down and
topped the gas tank, drove home and added some
more Stabil to the brim.
-My X is parked at our Mtn house so I stuffed the
exhaust tips with bubble wrap, put Bounce laundry
sheets in the car, and mothballs in a tray under the
hood to keep the freeloading bastard mices from taking
over the X, lol!

Some web sites have laundry lists that look like one
is time suspending an air craft carrier...you'll prob.
get some other good ideas, here however.

GL,mD

Edit, time will tell...we get "home" in a weekish and
I will be curious to see the shape it's in after 5 months
and how it starts and runs. I am not nervous, however.

PS: why would you store you X for the summer?
I see you are in YYZ, but it's a helluva car for
any time of the year.

I store my X5 in the summer, too. I drive my convertible in the Summer.
(ot: were you in the aviation business, md?)

Well, we have 3 cars and 3 Scoots, but I drive all of the
sumbitches, all summer.

No aviation biz, other than the umpty million miles I spent
riding in airplanes from '71 to 2000, when I hung up my suits,
turned in my bag, and untied myself from the whipping post.

My summer storage is as follows:
Top of all fluids
Start it every weekend
Drive it every two weeks.
And in the fall, it starts right up!

If you're storing the X5 in a secured garage, lay down some rat poison and/or rat traps around the garage to keep them out.

"I hate them mieces to pieces!"

trueX5er,
I got the connection. I just figured the OP was from T Town so he would
know YYZ. We had a plant in Brampton, under my tutelage, so I got
there several times per year for 25+ years.

Imo, that "start every weekend", without really running it until fully warmed,
may not be rec'd by most. But, diff'n strokes.
