Fuel Filler Door

Fuel door locked. Owners manuel says to pull manual release.
What would cause the fuel door to lock it self ?

Solenoid lock failure.

If you locked your vehicle when you exited it at the gas station that locks the fuel fill door. Make sure the drivers door is unlocked and the fuel fill door should also be unlocked; if not then there is a problem with the release mechinism. The manual release cable on my 2001 4.4i is behind the fuse/sub woofer access panel at the tailgate.
