**Help- Strange Locking Problem

-2003 4.4 X5
Okay, here is the problem.

-First my driver side door lock was not working properly (actuator problem). Then seem to go away after messing with it (multiple times locking and unlocking). Did not replace actuator. This was aprox 6 weeks ago.

- One of the things I noticed when I was messing with my driver side door (repeating lock & unlocking of door) that the button on the center console used to unlock the door's would stop working then would work a few minutes later. What would cause this to happen and does it have anything to do with the lock actuator?

-Second, my wife's key started not to work properly i.e. would not unlock doors, not set alarm, those types of things. So I tried to reset the key (position 0 then holding the unlock button and then hitting the lock button three time). When I did this I did not get the normal reaction that I expected. All of the doors locked then only the drivers side unlocked. I know when the dealer did my last X5 all of the doors unlocked not just the driver side. I also experienced the same thing with the center console unlocking button not working again.

-I called my service guy and he had said that it may be my "General Modulator". I've never heard of that nor could I find any thing here on that.

- Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!!!
