Oil Pressure warning???

Today I started the X, and after 5 sec. I got this warning telling me oil pressure is not working and to turn off engine. I did this right away and then I checked the oil and it was fine. I restarted the engine and everything was ok. Has anyone delt with this before? Is this just one of the electric gremlins lurking with in the X? Or is this just the begining of the oil sender going bad??? Need some info, before something worse happens, thanks...

Could be oil pressure sensor going bad...or you really don't have oil pressure. I would def not drive the vehicle until it's checked out to make sure the oil pump is in working order since you have enough oil. If there is a problem and you decide to drive it= new engine. Best way to figure if there is indeed a problem would be to use an oil pressure gauge to confirm the actual pressure. GL.

I thought the same thing, but I checked the oil and everything was ok. I drove it also, and everything was working fine. This has happend before, but with the brake lining warning showed. I knew it was wrong because I just got my brakes done a month ago. I still checked all brakes and everthing was ok. I think I have the same gremlin lurking. I'll just have to keep an eye on the oil. Thanks for your response.
P.S., I might just take it in this week coming up to see if everything checks out.

Just keep in mind that oil pressure and oil level don't necessarily have anything in common. You can have an oil pan full of oil, but if the oil pump or someother part of the oil distibution system isn't working, then all that oil will sit in the pan and instead of an engine, you will end up with a lump of metal under the hood that will have to be taken to the recycle yard!
Like vinuneuro said, you need to get the oil pressure checked, not the oil level!

Ok, got it. But don't you think that the warning would have come on again? If the oil sender or oil pump is not working. I don't know to much about the X, just the things that have happend to me. Please let me know, if thats the case I'm taking it in tomorrow morning before work... Thanks...

Who knows..there's no point in e-speculating. VANOS is oil pressure driven, so I'm sure it will be affected by this. Get it checked out for sure.

Ok update. Took the X in this morning, they checked it out. They said the computer didn't even show the problem when it happend. They told me that this may have been an electrical glich, they gave me an oil change, and I didn't even pay for it. They double checked everything and everything checked out A OK!!!! Thanks to all for all your input...
