Cost of Inspection level 1

Can anyone tell me how much the cost of an Inspection Level 1? My car just got the yellow inspection light at 29,800 miles and need to bring it to the dealer.

Do I have any breaks being a BMW Certified Pre Owned vehicle?

motordavid will become famous soon enoughmotordavid will become famous soon enough
$600ish, from memory of previous posts.

Other than an oil/filter/microfilter change,
a walk around by the tech, maybe a short spin
for the tech to cop lunch, Insp 1 is designed to
be a high gross margin deal for the stlr, if one
is not covered under "maintenance".

From memory again, CPO is an extended warranty
and will not cover it; if you had an extended
"maintenance" deal, it would.

I'd print out the list for Insp 1, found here on the
Board's front page, print it out, and go to a good
local indie. Probably half the price, twice the "inspection"
and ya'll good to go. One does not have to do Insp 1, by any
dlr to keep CPO cooking.

Not sure if it is helpful, but, as a comparison, I received a quote of 535 + tax for a BMW inspection here in NE Ohio (mine is approaching 60k).

Inspection I for my 02 4.4 was $550 from an independent certified shop. The check list performed was 2 pages long and actually quite extensive. I heard the dealer charges about $1100?
