SES Code p0130

Man, when it rains it pours. First my water pump goes south now I get a SES light. I had my brother read it and it's a P0130 O2 Sensor Circuit malfuction Bank 1 Sensor 1. So I just replaced the O2 sensor on the driver side before the cat. Reset the codes and no light for a few minutes then it reappears again??? Any other mean to this code also bank 1 sensor 1 refers to the driver side before the cat, correct?

I read on here a member had an issue with the light coming on randomly. It was just a loose connection at the ECU. Anyone know if the plug for the O2 goes straight to the ECU? Also is the ECU for the O2 sensor the one mounted under the hood near the passneger at the bottom of the windshield? Any help is welcome!!

number one possible issue:
IF YOU HAVE AN EXHAUST LEAK BEFORE THE O2 you will have a poor running car and a SES code

Second:
Check that O2 wiring is not running under or to close to Distributor. The Distributor makes a signal that the O2 wires pick up and send false information to the ECU. The ECU will interrupt this as a run condition and cause the car to run ugly. SES code will show.
this includes any high draw wiring near O2 wires.

Distributor? This vehicle has independent coil pack on each cylinder.

Sorry, I work on many cars. either way, If the wires are routed wrong it could be a problem with interference.
all so check the Ohms of resistance on the connectors in the bay. I will look up in the TIS to see if they list off the range.

However look for an exhaust leak prior to the O2. this will give a false reading.

I just ohmed everything out and they are good. Also the are all routed the right way since they are all tucked into the wiring holders. I'll get under there now and see if I hear an exhaust leak. I didn't notice any before but at this point anything is possible....
