question for whoever installed ice>link plus with DSP in trunk.

Hello Guys,

just received ice>link plus today,
I have DSP, NAV and CD Changer.
does anyone have ice>link plus intallation guide for DSP module?
I have a manual from ice>link but it doesn't even show me how to do or what to do.
do I need to wire the power cable or something?
last one, did you also get "Radio Shack" stuff as DSP module?

With an '05 you don't need to worry about the DSP. Just unplug the 3-pin and 6-pin connectors from the back of your CD changer and plug them into the Ice Link Plus and you are good to go.

Are you sure for that I don't need to connect DSP module which Dension provide me?
Tom from Dension USA told me that I need to get it and that's why I paid more and waited extra one more week?
if so then, hm i need to talk to him.

Yes, I'm 99.9% sure you don't need that. Tom must have thought that your X5 was a pre-2003. The pre-2003's with DSP have a digital DSP system which need the radio shack adaptor, whereas the 2003 and newer X5's have an analog DSP system that doesn't require it.

Strange. Same thing happened to me. But I have an 02. Just got off the phone with Tom and it seems as if I do not have DSP.

I have DSP controls on my navigation menu and the mini-woofers in the right panel of my trunk. Any thoughts?

You have DSP, it's a question of whether you have analog or digital DSP.

Does your CD changer have a coax connector and a 3-pin connector going to it, or does it have a 6-pin and a 3-pin connector going to it?

Ucrew you are right, I do have DSP, I guess it's analog, it's just a 3 and 6, buy my car is an 02

I just purchased the Ice Link for my 2005 X5 with DSP and Nav and was charged an extra $70 for the Radio Shack DSP converter. Not to second guess you guys, but are you sure that this component is unnecessary for the 2005 with DSP? Thanks again for all your great advice.

Absolutely sure. I posted my install (including parts pix) on the Stereo forum. I have a 2005 X5 with NAV and DSP. It works great with just the long cable, ICELink module, and 3 ft lobe cable that goes from the ICELink to the IPod.

Hook it up in your trunk area and give it a listen.
