e70 or porsche cayenne rear wiper on e53?

hi i love my 03 x but the rear wiper has a really cheap look to it. not sure how to explain. but if you compare it with the e70 or
cayenne rear wiper you can tell the different.

has anyone install custom rear wipers or could you install the cayenne or e70 ones on the x?

below is a large e53 pic

It if its apperence and performance you are going for why not just change your wiper blade. Lots of good reviews on here for the Bosch Icons.

Yeah I figured that was what you are talking about. I just think a newer wiper that looks sturdier might give you a more polished look as it sounds that is what you are going for. The bigger blade on a new wiper would mask most of the arm as they would blend in being all black. Sounds like a cheap $20 fix. The other options sound like a bit of headache.

I have no idea, it would be something you would have to look at it close up. Might try looking at one in the dealer lot. My assumption is that connection to the motor will be different.

For one. the motor is set up in the wrong direction. left for the e53 and right for the e70. So if the e70 did fit on the e53 it would be upside down and wouldnt look as polished as it does on the e70.

Good luck.

My question is......Does it work??? If so what's the big deal. I can't see that much of a difference.

yes i think you could put it on, it would go both ways just unscrew the old one and install the new one, i dont even think you would need to modify it. it isnt much of a big deal, my x5 blade is starting to bend down and dosnt actually sit on the window so i think i may get a newer one.
