Dinan Upgrades -- 2005 4.4

Was thinking of adding the performance software and cold air intake to my X -- any input as to experience with the software and intake would be appreciated...I guess my main question is, is it worth the $ ?

Thanks,
J

not in my opinion. i have the software/cai in my 540 and while it sounds cool.. it's not enough bang for the buck imo.

I did the whole S2 upgrade on my 2001, which included alot more than what's offered for the 2004-2006. I had a 2006 for awhile. had planned for the strut brace and cold air intake, but was also seriously looking into the tranny software to do something about the acceleration hesitation. I know alot of people say Dinan is too $$$, but I also know there are alot fewer headaches when everything is designed to work together and only having one source to complain to if problems arise (which I've had absolutely none)

agree. dinan's benefit of covering the warranty with bmw is excellent. and no doubt they build quality products but my point was that the $$$ is high for a small or negligible benefit in performance. at least that was the case in my 540, might yield better results on the x5. ymmv as usual.
