5mph auto lock

My 2001 doesnt lock like my benz use to as i drive away, I always have to push the button to make them lock. I remember back in my 540i days i had to put the key in on position and hold lock down or soemthing like that. Tried it on the 3.0 and i got nothing, anyone know how to make this work?

It's one of the features that your BMW dealership can program your car to do for you.

Yep. Dealer programmed only. My dealer will hook up his machine and make changes for me without a charge. Maybe yours will too.

Wow, you have a NICE dealer! Most charge 1/2 to 1 full hour for such "services." I feel that this should be a good-faith effort on their part since it is a 5-minute job for them and it's not like people are lined down the street trying to "get a freebie!"

My dealer got programming done at no-charge. My service rep just changed though and unfortunately, I don't like this newb much. Wants us to pay for the rental. (Hell no, I'll bring it up to the manager if I'm forced to pay for a loaner car)
