The purpose of the WDH is to distrubute the weight to the rear of the trailer so it is not pushing down on the tongue and your rear. It seems like the rear suspension would compensate for the rest. But I have not tried it on a X5.

the wdh spreads the weight to the tow vehicles front wheels as well as the trailers wheels. when properly adjusted the tv should be level. but back to the ? of how to allow for the self leveling. also, with 550lb of tongue weight, what effect on the steering and brakes would be expected.?
