Body Color Trim

Finally got into an X5 after having a 328 ci and a Z3 - now it is time to grow up and get the SUV. I got a great CPO 2002 4.4i and am extremely happy with how sound it is.

Question on the body color trim. Does anyone get this painted? If so, should I go through the dealership or to body shop? I really think that this would spark up the exterior appearance. I am already working on getting upgrades to the navigation system - right now looking at getting drivesoft installed so that I can have computer/dvd/xm features.

Congrats and welcome. The trim should be painted at a good body shop. Most, if not all, dealers just send it out to a bodyshop. There are many people who have done this. Check the X5 World home page in the "Body" section and also the gallery in the "Miscellaneous" section
