Rear Driver Window PLEAS HELP RAIN COMING

Stopped going up. The glass can be pushed down, but it only will go up a bit more then half way. Removed the door panel. What should I be looking for. The wire cable is loss.

yup. bad window regulator. what Zulu95 said or head to the dealer and pay about $450 for them to fix it.

My SA says BMW upgraded the window regulator in mid of 2003, so it won't happen on 2003+ cars. just wondering if it's true. If it's true, I don't need to worry about my mom's 2003 X5. However, I had my front window regulators replaced on my e46 in 2002, so i am afraid that they are going to break some time in the future again.

my May production '03 just had one fail; hence, the $450 total i mentioned above. what's worse,
i did a majority of the work by removing the door panel and foam backing. all they had to do was
remove the couple screws that help the regulator in place. once complete, i put the foam and
door panel back together.

And lose all that lovely money repairing a long standing, multi-model problem: Perish the thought!
