Aux Input for 01 X5 with NAV/DSP
I would like to install my XM Terk reciever in my 01, X5 with NAV/DSP. Is there a product that allows an AUX input while keeping the CDC? Could this be a video input of which I can use the audio portion only? Any help is appreciated. |

I understand that X5World has many articles and a very helpful search feature. Believe me, I have spent about 20 hours researching all X5World threads and google in general trying to find a solution. I was hoping someone had been successful using a plug and play module of some sort (IPOD, VIDEO, ETC). I'm not to keen on the idea of splicing into the tape deck outputs with a gain amplifier and I do want to keep the stock CDC. I have been unable to find a solution that falls within these parameters on an 01 with 4:3Nav and DSP. With all that said, has anyone accomplished what I am attempting? Please share your knowledge and I will be grateful.

Yes, we've got you covered here:
eas Auxiliary Audio Input http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=630 You will need the Digital DSP adapter also, this will replace your CD Changer if equipped. Your only other alternative is to upgrade the radio tuner ($500+) and use the AUX kit if the CD Changer is key. Otherwise, ditch the CD Changer and go the DICE route with your iPod - this will integrate the iPod and provide an AUX input: DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW - DSP http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=284 You've now got a few options - let me know if you need additional help.

Thanks for your help, Tom. After browsing your site in detail it seems that the HD tuner might also be an option. Can I install the HD tuner in my 01 X5 w/dsp and nav, keep the cd changer, and feed the xm signal through the aux input on the HD Tuner? If so, how will the sound quality be?
Thanks again. |

AUX input with CDC
First post of a south of France (Toulouse) X5 2002 adict...
Perhaps a solution I will test in few days : As far as the AUX cable is automatically detected because of the resistor between Left and Right cable near AUX input, disabling the CDC, I think, as a matter of fact, that if you "cut" by a manual double switch the left and right cable, the AUX cable would no longer be detected, and CDC would reappear. Placing the microswitch near the AUX input in the glove case would allow to activate it when needed. This has to be tested... Hope it will help ! |

Hello, i don't have X5, but i think it should be simillar - i have 4:3 boardmonitor and in trunk dsp, cdc, tel, navi on boardmonitor i can choose modes AUX/CDC/TAPE/RADIO. So i think my car should have aux input somewhere - where can i find it?

Most likely in the glove compartment, left hand side.
