Underbody trim

3.0i owners, could you please tell me if there is supposed to be an underbody trim covering the transmission and transfer case area (under the driver seat)? I thought I had remember seeing a trim piece covering that area. Thanks.

I didn't have a cover either. I tried to take some pics, but my phone sucks. Mine looks exactly like yours.

Thanks, but that's a picture of a 4.4i, which have a small trim cover piece next to the cat on both sides. I always though the 3.0i had it as well.

There is a trim piece that cover the underside of the gear box, have a look here:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...87&hg=51&fg=70

If you have a look at the statement at the bottom of the page "Items pictured but not listed are not installed on your vehicle." although the part exists, it doesn't look like its fitted to the 3.0i

It is fitted to the 3.0d - I know 'cos mine ripped off when i went through a deep puddle!!

So...I guessed the answer is "no" for the underbody tranny/transfer case trim cover for the 3.0i? Oh well...I must have been hallucinating for having thought seeing such piece on my X

Looking at your pic, there appear to be clips that would hold such a cover though?
