I retrofitted Bi-Xenons today and 04-06 Angel Eyes

well actually I retrofitted Bi-Xenons a year ago, but I didnt reseal the headlight capsules well and condensation ruined the solenoids, so I re-retrofitted new BiXenons, lesson learned. They slide right in after you've disassembled the whole headlight, this mod is only for those with headlights that can be opened up of course. After that I ran the wires out the back of the headlights and wire tapped them into the brights. Angel eyes were a PIA, the halos surrounding the projectors fit fine and can be glued in. The brights dont exactly fit, but they look nice. I havent wired them up yet because I cant find my wiretaps, they're somewhere around the house I think.

coming soon... I'll have a detailed write up on the bixenon installation as they are pretty difficult to install if you've never done them before. Bi- xenons are eggcellent by the way, along with my regular brights they light up everything!

That's awesome LionKang! Congrats! What a great set of mods!
I assume the Bi-X's were OEM, but what brand/source were the AE's- Folks would prob'ly like to know how to avoid the fitting problem on those.

Oh, also, the re-sealing/condensation: How did it happen? Did you rely on the OEM glue to reseal the first time, and it wasn't enough? I should get my new bake-able units soon & was just wondering how I can be sure that the lights don't get fogged (which can also happen from adhesives off-gassing apparently). Great work & Thanks in advance!

Thanks, the Bi-Xenons were from 4 different sets of 04 X headlights, since I toasted the first set of Bi-xenons by not properly sealing the capsules, and the angel eyes are OEM too, they actually look great.

You need to put them back in the oven and use a set of pliars to squeeze the edges to make sure they seal properly, havent tested them with the garden hose, but I didnt loose any silicone, so I would assume they should be good to go. It took almost a year to kill them, the first time.

Lionkang -

I'm trying to understand this - you retrofitted a the Bi-Xenon adaptive lights from the '04-'06 model to an '00-'03 headlight shell? Sounds like a pretty sizeable engineering effort! Good job! Pix! Pix! Where's da pix?

Regards, Mike

No, not the adaptive feature, that would require me to retrofit sensors and possibly update the ecu and definitely the lcm I would think, I only retrofitted the bi-xenon capability. So now when I click on my high beams, the solenoid in the bixenons open up and I have halogen and xenon high beams. I'll try to do a write up tonight and get some pics uploaded
