Location of an X5 coolant sensor

Hello, I posted a similar thread earlier, I noticed that the expansion tank is different for a 3.0 X5 versus the 4.4. Does anyone have a picture or know where the level sensor is located on a 4.4 liter? I have been getting an error message on my dash "check coolant level" the level is fine, I am assuming its the sensor. I want to make sure that I have right part also if I can do this on my own.....

Check out the pdf in post #3 of this thread:

While the Search Tab here is not foolproof, all encompassing or
remotely like GOOG, ya gotta learn to give it a try.

Thanks

David, thanks for the thread, actually I am looking for the coolant level sensor and not the temperature sensor. The leveling sensor is supposed to be on or in the expansion tank. The tank looks different for a 3.0 liter versus a 4.4. I didn't where the sensor was located on the 4.4 tank...

Thanks

David,

Thanks for you help..... I was able to change the sensor, but I did end up breaking the small hose on the top ... talk about a bad design, cheap material.... ended up buying a new one...... $50......... crazy... a normal radiator hose is about $5
It still amazes me that a car that costs more than most other SUVs has so many problems and parts are beyond expensive.
