any 4.6is/4.8is owners drive a 07 4.8i sport?

Just wondering what the thoughts were after driving the 4.8i sport setup on 20's compared to the 4.8is or 4.6is...

How was the handling?

How was the performance?

How was the exhaust note?

Overall thoughts?

Thanks.

You mean as compared to E70 4.8i with sport package?

Both are different beasts and engine is tuned differently. You will know the difference right away.

The gas pedal on 4.8is is very responsive as against 4.8i sport. Different suspension and therefore different handling.

E70 4.8i exhaust note is missing the growl. Don't hear the engine from distance on E70 4.8i.

Although I like the E70 minus the plastic bumpers but after having driven E53 4.8is I don't think I can go back to non-performance version X5.

i like driving my e53 4.4 better than our e70 4.8is, sounds better, and for some odd reason feels like it has more power :S

Thanks for the feedback. I am still enjoyng my 4.8is.

Was sort of getting an itch but I don't think I am going to scratch it until a "performance" version of the e70 comes out.

I personally prefer the E53 as well. There is some character loss with the X70.

The current X3's aren't that bad -the sport pack one's look pretty good IMHO. Exterior appearance is a bit more cohesive (maybe it's the size) than the E70.

If BMW offers a twin-turbo X3 variant it will be a force to be reckoned with.
Probably would give the E70 4.8i a run for it's money.
