2006 X5 Aero Kit From the Accessory Book

I just recently bought a fully loaded 06 4.4 w/ the sport package and already managed to get into an accident. (NOT my fault)
The right front was smashed totalling 15k in damages...

So since i got into the accident I figred i would atleast order the 4.8 kit to put on now since i wanted to do that down the road anyawys.

when i went to go see my car they had on the WRONG kit. they ordered the complete Aero Kit (fender flares bumpers & running boards) from the BMW Accessory book.
dont ask me how they messed that up becasue i still have no clue. But now my question is this....

how many of you actually like the Aero kit that's in the Accessory book?

I know it's my car and all but i want to get peoples opinions on what they thought about it.

(for people not knowing that the Aero Kit looks like ill try and post pictures later tonight when i get home from work)

Also, does anyone know the price difference in the whole headlamps w/ the clear lenses Vs. the yellow lenses. My body shop guy told me it was a $100 a piece difference to get myself the clear corner head lamps (whole unit). Now He's telling me they are $300 a piece difference.
(the insurance is paying for the whole units (both sides) so i wanted to get myself into the clear ones instead.

the aero kit from the book is correct...

you were looking for the 4.8 kit...

and i like it but it will depend on what color you have. the 4.8 kit is more elegant IMHO. aero kit is too overdone (depending on color)

euroclears (clear lenses) aren't really available in the US. but they do look better

My car is black on black.

as far as the euro clears im assuming they are because i specifically asked for those ones and he said that they were (at first) $100 more a piece (price difference) than the yellow lensed ones. then today he tells me they are $300 more a piece

I have the aero kit on my titanium silver X and it doesnt look flashy or gaudy in any way. As a matter of fact I often get people pulling up next to me and asking me what model X it is. I also have the 20s style 87 wheels on which gives it an agressive but elegant look. Just my opinion but I think the aero kit works only if you have the bigger wheels. Good luck mate.

I see a silver X5 around Ft lauderdale with the aero kit and I have to say it looks sharp! I always liked the look of the painted black trim and that kit takes care of that and then some!

What lights exactly do you want to buy? Sport headlights with clear turn signal lenses? Halogen or Xenon? Halogen can be found for $100 on Ebay. The Xenon can go for $200 - $300 each. They are the ones in demand.

Lets see some pics!!!!

My only concern now is that the 06 4.4i sport 19' rims look like peanuts on the car... so im pretty much going to have to buy some rims. I was looking @ the schnitzer Type III's (non racing)

the car will be done by tuesday! so as soon as i get it i will post pics asap.
im very excited to see the final outcome of it. hopefully i can afford to buy the rims before the summer ends.

mmmm, wonder if that is my X you see in Ft. Lauderdale? I pop down once every few months to visit my mum's place.
