Oil Change DIY??
Hi there everyone. I have a 2002 4.4i that I needed to change the oil on. I was looking at the DIY section and it looks like there is only one for the 3.0 an d the 2004 4.4i which I think is different from mine since I believe it does not have the valvetronic setup. Does anyone know what the differences are or can I follow one of those DIY? If I remember correctly my oil filter is on the top of the engine like the 3.0 but I could be mistaking.
Any input would greatly help. Thanks. |

You can follow those DIY's. The differences for the non-valvetronic 4.4 are not that significant.

My main question is...am I right about my oil filter being on top and not underneath the engine bay?

Just did oil this afternoon. As noted the filter on the 4.4i is located in the front of the engine compartment. Very easy to get too, not sure why they moved it under the car on the later engines.
