newbie x5 owner - SATNAV + monitor problems
hi all, glad finally to be part of this club, at last i got my x5 few days ago,
come with no satnav or monitor, just standard front cassette and rear cd changer. so i bought a monitor first and thought ill install it myself and later when i get a satnav unit ill do that aswell. stripped the dash, removed cassette player, and noticed the plugs on the loom were different to the plugs on the back of the monitor (16:9 monitor). would not fit apart from one of them, the white one slotted in perfect but soon as i put it in, smoke started to come from the monitor so i disconnected in straight away. so i went to the back of the car to see where the satnav unit would plug in, but could not find any plugs on the loom. i was told all x5's come standard with the plugs on the loom and that all you have to do is buy the extras like the monitor or dvd or satnav and plug them in, someone please help, why was there smoke coming out of the monitor when i plugged the white plug in? and where are the plugs for the satnav unit in the back? i have a 2001 3ltr diesel sport. thankyou. |
