Problem with the air conditioner blowing intermittently.

I'm having AC issues. Front AC doesn't blow anything out of the vents when I turn it on, but briefly blows cold air once I turn it off.

Has anyone had this issue? What are the possible causes and repair cost to this?

$65 - $75 for part on eBay or most parts suppliers.

Hmmm...it says that you lose the ability to control it whereas on mine, nothing comes out of the vent at all....there is no fluctuation. Could this still be the issue?

Thanks a lot guys

I hadn't done any work on my X5 and replacing the Final Stage Resistor was easy and took about 45 minutes...nice and slow. Bit fiddly to take out but saved the dealer doing it. The guide on the site (linked earlier) is spot on!
Enjoy.
