The CV joint was already making noise, which is why I looked underneath the truck and found the torn boot. It was too late, the damage was done since the joint was making the clicking noise. At that point, I was just curious and just kept driving it!

Hmmm, maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but for some reason, I think I'm being picked on! I was just trying to post an informative CV Joint repair success story - I got a great price from an indy and I'm extremely happy with the repair! The lesson others should learn is to check your CV boots before you hear the click-click-click noise when turning and accelerating. For me, it was too late, but I have a new best friend mechanic 1.3 miles from my house!
