Let me introduce myself

Hi there,

just want to drop you a line. I am a newbie and I just bought a 2005 4.4i brand spanking new directly from BMW Canada.

The truck is silver with dakota black leather interior with whole bunch of options.

I didn't like the style 83 wheels so I had them put winter tires on them and install a set of 20" Cross Spoke 177.

At the same time there will be installing a pair of Invision headrest dvd systems.

I will have the X5 on Monday. I was wondering if it would look strange if I add the rear 4.8is valence on the rear bumber and instead of replacing the whole front bumber for the 4.8is version I would install the the underride front skid plate (painted silver).

Anyway look forward the get the truck.

welcome....i think the rear valence + decorative skid plate should look fine. The silver should balance it out.

Welcome to X5world!

So, what is the story with buying a brand new 2005 model, presumably never licensed? Why direct from BMW, and not a dealer? If it is old stock, are they changing all the fluids prior to delivering it to you (especially the brake fluid, which is already due for a change?)

I was going to ask the same thing. Get a clarification on the vehicle's in-service date. It could have been placed in service as early as Q4 2004.

It came from BMW Canada but the transaction is going trough a dealer. Never registered so full maintenance and warranty of the vehicule.

The first thing I have asked them was to flush all fluids.

The sticker price was still on the car at 74,800$ CAD and I ended up paying 48,800$ CAD + 4500$ for the 20" Cross Spoke 177 and winter tires on the original wheels.

I think I have a great deal. Can't wait to pick it up!

I will be posting pic as soon as I have it!
