No gauges, ABS light

Has this ever happened to anyone. Drove the X out to take a hike, everything was fine. Parked and was gone for about 2 hours came back, started it up and everything in the dash cluster was dead. the yellow "ABS" light was on. Turn signals would illuminate on the cluster and stay on, however signals operated normally. My front Heated seats wouldnt work. Cruise worked but no light on dash to tell me it was enabled. It was quite strange. I shut the car off several time to see if its just a ignition switch failing intermittantly but nothing. I got it home checked all the fuses all were good. Decided to see if it was the cluster so I pulled it out and hooked it up to my e39, it came to life when turned the ignition on, so I figured it wasnt the cluster. Plugged it back into the X and bam, everything works now. Has anyone ever seen this before? Like something was reset, or is it a sign that something big is about to happen. I did a search but nothing having the same symptoms would come up.

Thanks
Dave

something "shorted" onto the iBus - it could be one of the modules woke up from a "wrong foot" or anything to that effect... could be just a one-off gremlin...

if it happens again, then we would need to track it down...
