I'm not a fan of adding M badges where they don't belong. I understand you may like the look, but to me it just seems 'fake'.

I agree with not putting M badges on places where they don't belong, but isn't the 4.6is the M version of the X5?

I say go for it.

Well thats what I was thinking, plus with my other mods that have the M logo and with visually the same speedo I though it wouldnt look too bad! And besides BMW no longer keep the M logo just for the M cars, they have M sport packages for other models, that are not M cars, just the other day I was in a M-535D-Sport.

Go for it. The new 4.8is sport package will have the M logos on the wheel and steering wheel. BMW realized that they sold more X's with the sport package (which meant M series, like the 540 sport) then it did non sport. So they decided to put the "M" logo starting in '08'.... GO FOR IT!!!! I did it also. My steering wheel, Shifter, and in the back ...
