Shop preference for alignment ???

Where do you prefer to take your X5 for aligment? Do you prefer Dealer only or any good local shop? It's a concern as I am getting new tires and don't want to mess up on alignment.

For alignments on an X5, I prefer the dealer. One of the few things I feel that way about.

I know this wont work for you, but for other reading in seattle area,

Truline in Bellevue or Seattle, they are really good. They do work for BMW Seattle, and the Lambo dealer over here.

I pull up and he has a brand new lambo he was doing work on, If hes good enough for a lambo hes good enough for me.

definitely a dealer - BMW alignment requires weights in seats & rear for proper setup.

Would anyone care to post a pic of their alignment report from a BMW shop ?
I'd be curious to see where their #'s lie.

I've always been a believer that it's not the shop or the tools.....but the guy who works on my car and have always brouht mine to my indy. Hell, I even drive 1.25 hrs to him to get my tires patched/changed even though there are tons of tire joints minutes away.....

Yesterday, I had my Euro spec 728i (e23) in a local alignment shop for a front end align after install of Bilstien sport shocks. This particular shop is owned and run by a total gear head who always has a variety of cars in there, muscle cars, customs, race cars, high-end europeans, jacked up 4x4s, you name it. I have not had reason to get my X5 aligned yet, but I would not hesitate to take it to him, he knows his stuff.

There is no reason to insist on a dealer alignment if you can find a good indy shop.
Some dealers send their cars out to an indy shop for alignments anyways....
