Sumitomo?

Has anyone here tried the Sumitomo HTR Sport H/P tires on an 3.0 w/ sport package? A friend uses them on his MDX and has been pleased with the treadwear, gas mileage, and snow traction. I just wondered what experiences X5ers might have had. Since I've always had either Michelin or Bridgestones, I'm pretty naive to other manufacturers. Thanks

i've had sumimoto on a MB sedan in the past for a few miles, hated how loud and horrible traction was and swaped them out.
from my experience i wouldn't buy them again. they were cheap but sure performed cheap for me.
i can't vouch for any other cars, that was my first and last sumimoto purchase.

ran them on my 330ci for a bit, no complaints, but its not a 5000lb SUV. I was doing circles in the snow around all the soccer moms in their SUV's with a rear wheel drive car. I didnt notice the noise difference, but the borla exhaust could have helped to mask a bit of it.

I'm going with the Michelin's. Better sage than sorry. THanks for the opinions.
