an update on the only lemon...

to roll of the x5 production line at the spartanburg plant.

i just got it back from its 32nd trip to the repair shop in 34000 miles.

this time it went in for LEDs out in the radio and the passenger side door not unlocking unless i opened the door from the inside.

i love owning this X5. a while ago, i had a problem with the engine that was recurring. the techs at the dealer couldn't fix it. they were about to replace the car for me because they couldn't fix it. as a last resort before replacing the vehicle, they had a BMW tech from the spartanburg plant come check out the car. the guy goes over my car and finds what is wrong. his first response was "i have never seen this issue in an x5 before."

turns out when they assembled the car, the pipe that was supposed to be funneling fumes out the exhaust when i started the car, was actually funneling them back into the engine.
