Sport Steering wheel retrofit Help needed

Do I need a new slip ring or not just to upgrade to 2001 sport steering wheel? I have the standard 4 spoke steering wheel now, and want to upgrade to the 3 spoke wheel. So I assume it is just the wheel and air bag and follow the directions from the home page on the steering wheel upgrade?

If yours is a 2000 then this upgrade will not work. How do I know, because I bought the New 3 spoke sport steering wheel and new airbag. Installed them and the AB light would not go off. Turns out that the 2001+ X5 have a dual stage airbag set-up and the 2000's don't. The swap can not work, Trust me on this one.

Shoot I can not believe that the sport option was not available in 2000. Well I should be alright becuse I don't have an 00.

Its should be plug and play no clock spring needed.
