PDC not working, light flashes

Last weekend my reversing/parking sensors stopped working. I had just had a tracker fitted the day before and wonder if the installer has knocked something.

When I go in to reverse, the PDC light flashes and I hear a long tone (about 3 seconds). The tone stops, the light keeps flashing and the sensors dont make any noise when something is in the way.

Anybody got any experience like this?

If I take it to the garage under warranty work and they find out it`s to do with the tracker installation they wont be happy and neither will I but will the tracker installer have to pay for the repair?

I sounds like one or all of your rear PDC sensors are disconnected. GL

Would it be obvious when I look in the boot (under the floor) if one is disconnected? If not, where should I look. I installed the tv in motion module yesterday (yes, the PDC wasnt working then, so it wasnt me) and didn`t notice any connectors not connected.

Had a somewhat similar incident happen to me. I do not know about this tracker and where it is at, but over here in EULand, we have long license plates and mine had a bracket around it. Suddenly, and this was on the front plate since it rests even with the bumper, I got the same tone and it stopped. Once I removed the border and siliconed it to the bumper, no problemo.

Like I said, I may be an idiot here regarding your problem, but the symptom seemed to be the same. Is anything too close to one of the sensors?

Tracker is a GPS and GSM tracking device that`s fitted in a secret location on the vehicle (I`ve looked and cant find it), then if it gets stolen or moved without me unlocking the car, it dials out for help, tracker ring me and ask me if I know where the car is (or I can tell them) and if it`s stolen, they turn on the locating signal for the police to find it. The installer definitely installed in the boot because I found a drop of solder under where the spare wheel goes. So its either an unplugged connector or something in the way of the sensors, or even a dodgy sensor.. I`ll have a play.

Same thing happens to mine but i disconnected one of the sensors because it had fallen out of it's holder! The connectors on the outside of the car are under the rear bumper i dont know where they are on the inside of the car. Goodluck

Problem solved

Well if you followed any of my posts today you`ll have seen that I upgraded the software in my DVD nav drive.

However for some reason which may or maynot be related, my parking sensors rear and front are now working perfectly since the upgrade. I cant explain it but it`s true, tried loads of times today, work everytime. I have altered NOTHING other than the software this am, no hardware changes since the other day..

Has anybody else had a result like this by updating the nav software?

Neither do I but honestly, they havent worked for nearly 2 weeks then suddenly I do this upgrade and theyre fine. I tried them yesterday to see if they had started working but they hadnt, they were still flashing and giving a 3 second tone. Now, the light stays on and only bleeps when somethings in the way.
