New nuts?
I am going to replace my front lower control arms and see in the DIY that Drex recommends replacing both locknuts on each arm.
From all the ball joint and control arm posts on this web I assume many of you have already been through this. Did you replace the nuts? Does BMW normally stock them at the stealership? Or do they need to be ordered? - Glenn |

I'm doing the same thing and the arm I ordered from Bimmerzone actuall came with the new nuts. I'd strongly recommend buying thw ball joint puller cuz I just spent 2 hours trying to get the arm from the rotors without succes. I just re-assemble everything and will go buy the tool tommorow.

Yes, you must replace all nuts including the one on rotor side and the one on chasis side.

BMW or off the shelf nuts?
OK, sounds like I should replace the nuts. Is there anything special about the nuts that requires I get 'em from BMW? Or just go to Ace Hdwr, etc, and get the same metric dimensions?
