MkIV DVD NAV firmware upgrade
Hi all,
I burned a DVD+R of the v2007.2 DVD NAVTEQ disc and my current 2004 MkIV DVD system kept rejecting the disc. Is it because I need to upgrade the NAV firmware? I'm not sure what version the firmware is, but I don't think the previous owner updated it since getting the car in 8/2004. I searched in the forum, but couldn't find the answer. Anyone have any tips? Also, i was having trouble burning the v29.1 firmware onto CD. kept getting sector errors on the burn using ImgBurn. Thanks. 2004 X5 4.4i

Figured it out...
...i read through the v29.1 NAV OS thread (wow...all 34 pages!!!). The OS disc errors were resolved using Alcohol120%. Burned correctly now.
As for the v2007.2 NAV Disc backup, your DVD Burner needs to have a bitsetting or booktype setting to switch a DVD+R to burn as a DVD-ROM. That's the format with which the MKIV NAV Disc drive is compatible.
