Livin on the edge - pads are almost out
I knew I was expecting a front brake job this late fall but I guess it came earlier than expected. Front brake is making a slight grinding sound and when I look real close, the a-rattle clip on the front driver is literally touching the rotor. No noise when I drive though and the sensor has not lit me up yet.... Oh well, I guess I'll just drive this week with a little bit more distance between me.......for this week until I get to do the brakes. |

if the brake sensor just tripped you're OK for a little while. there's still 1/8" or so left on your pads. unless they are not wearing evenly due to very hard usage.

I've decided not to drive till I can get this brake job done.....drove a friend home last night the a-rattle clip is indeed touching the rotor. It looked a couple of mm shy of touching it and I thought it was moreso a warped rotor.
However, when the calipers close....the rattle clip grinds up against the rotor. Hmmm....me wonders how low the pads should go before the sensor lit up. |

Not at that unusual for the pads to wear asymetrically. IIRC, the sensor is on the inside pad.
You're right to park it until you can do the brake job! |
