Here's my theory on why I should sell it. I travel 10 minutes to work and back, so the mileage I drive the X a week is minimal. Also I plan on doing some renovations to the house and the X5 is not the type of vehicle to be throwing plywood, 2x4's, Sheetrock, saw dust, etc,etc,etc... Seems like a waste to trash a luxuary SAV. That I will only drive 20-30 miles a week and get piss pour gas MPG. My Fiance has a new vehicle that we will be taking for trips and nights out on the town. I'd rather have the Monthly payments for supplies, furniture, and appliances. The quickier I get the house the way we like it the soon we will have kids and look for another vehicle. My priorities have changed from washing and waxing the X to painting and remodeling the house. I just need something to throw stuff in and not worry about about a window motor, door lock actuator, etc... Reliablity is not a huge factory with another vehicle since I will be traveling so little in it. Plus I will probably be buying american and my brother who is ASE cert can check it out and has connections to buy at auction. So I will get more for my money.

^^^ your way of thinking is perfectly right. anyone asking why would you sell your x5 either doesn't understand your situation or they simply forget that you still owe $8grand on that car which equals payments whether you drive it or not, and that you could spend that $$$ elsewhere.

BTW
you claim the seats are heated and it doesn't look so from the pics (no heated seats bottons). I guess those seats are not sport buckets?

is that a grey or charcoal interior?

also, what are you going to replace the eclipse with?

out of the curiosity, do you still have the spare or the sub box took all that space?

The seats are heated. I installed aftermarket elements and the switches are mounted near the power seat controls.

The interior is charcoal with the two tone down the center.

I plan just buying an cheaper aftermarket radio or will sell it with the Eclipse if the buyers willing to pay the extra.

I have the spare still of coarse it's not in the X any more.

congrats on the new house silver5, good things that you have changed your hobby from washing and waxing the x to doing stuff around the house. thats a growing process. and trust me on this, once you are settled, have kids, nice house, good job, you will go back to washing, waxing, modding your rides again. because it is in your blood from day one (your x proves it). so you need not compare what gives you more joy, fixing the house or wash/wax/mod your ride. next time around you will even enjoy it more than you did even with the ride that gives you more troubles. family aside, if you are a true car enthusiast it will come back to you very soon. look at it this way, after house fixing excitement is gone (be careful what you wish for, that will cost you more), your kids go to grade schools, your wife takes the kids to soccer practice or whatever, you are at home on sunday watching football and again "washing/waxing/modding" your car again. doesn't matter if it is an x5, x3 or a kia. dont get too excited about fixing, renovating, remodeling your house, your next x5 (maybe) could go down with it too. happy commitment and enjoy your next ride.

Definately won't be the last car I modify. Every car since I got my license I was modifying one way or another. I guess I will just settle with making a ram air induction with some dryer vent piping on my beater, LOL!
