Are Comfort seats worth the extra money

Im getting an 06 X5 and know exactly what options i want already. But the only one im not sure if i should get or not are the comfort seats. Is it worth the extra money or am i better off with the sport seats. Ill admit the sport seats are pretty stiff. Do the comfort seats have active ventalation for when its hot like the 7 series?

They are absolutely worth it! I have experienced a couple of X5s with them and it is unreal. There is no way you can't be comfortable in them, esp with the degree of available adjustment. The sport seats are fine, but they do get a little uncomfortable after a reasonable amount of time. No the comfort seats aren't ventilated, but still worth it!

Note: if you drive the corners hard, the sport seats are going to do a lot better job. I've also found that when you extend the thigh support, the area between there and the main bottom seat cushion is a great place to keep things, lol.

see, that's why i didn't like the comfort seats, waaaaaaaaayyy too many adjustments and when you change one, you have to fiddle with the others to get truly comfortable. imho.

I just LOVE the comfort seats! The backsupport you get in those seats are exelent! They are what gives my X the comfort sence Euro spec. sport pack is really stiff.

If I buy an other BMW one of the must have options is the comfort seats. You are crazy if you order one without it!

An ideal seat will be a combination of sport seats and comfort seats. The comfort seats do not have leg extensions, which makes the seating part like standard seats. The side support does help on sport seats in long drive. Test them at your dealer and decide.

I wanted to test them but they dont have one on the lot with comfort seats and he said very few people order them as an option.

I have the comfort seats and am glad I ordered them, especially with the road trips that I've taken. The most recent being the Chicago to SC to DC to Chicago tour for the meet last weekend. My butt appreciated those seats for the whole trip.

I and my wife love our comfort seats. We think they are especially worth it on the long trips. If your not convinced read the "2600 miles in five days thread". Some could argue that the sport seats have better lateral grip as I'm sure they do, but most of the time your just motoring down the highway. Bottom line, no matter what seats you choose, BMW seats are among the best.

I've had BMW's with both sports seats and comfort seats, and I would call the comfort seats a no-brainer option in my opinion. They feel sooooo nice on a long trip.
