4.6is prices?
I have a 2002 This 4.6is but with 143K, 4.8is rims, and some pealing paint on the hood, roof, and a top part of a door. I purchased about 3-4k in parts to put it up to spec. timing kit complete engine reseal and vanos rebuild plus transmission service kit, engine mounts, cooling system, driveshaft guibos, and complete brakes rotors, pads. the Interior is super mint, the only glass item that does not work is the sunroof tilt, all door handles work. I need to sale it to buy a newer vehicle because of my family growing (need that 7th row) what can I sell it for including the parts or with the new parts all installed. are you looking for one? (PM me) what should I post it for? let me know what you think and why. Thanks. PS: those are pictures from 2018 from a previous dealership, it sold at 7500usd

Unfortunately they aren't worth what we would think. I have 2 of them. One I did the guide job, now waiting for some body work, the other is in the middle of guides and a rebuilt cylinder head. If you could get $5k for yours you would be doing well. People don't appreciate them and they can be money pits. Good luck.

I think people see E53s in general as old german cars with a cost of ownership that was high when new and only is worse at the 20-year mark. I think that goes for the V8 cars and especially the 4.6/4.8 cars more so than the 3.0s. That is my perception at least.
In my area, there are maybe a dozen for sale, and the highest prices are some nicer-kept 3.0s. There is only one iS car (a 4.8) which looks like a decent example, but just had its price dropped to $5k. This seems to be typical for my area, not a lot of people want to own them because they see them as money pits. And several of the cars for sale are really nasty, from people who don't want to pay to repair them. It's a little sad but I see it as a good opportunity for people like us, who know the cars well and want to take care of them.

Check Autotrader.com or cars.com. That will give you an idea. Prices might vary some for very similar 4.6s. I looked recently to see what they are selling because I am thinking about selling mine. The prices ranged from 9 to 20 thousand.
