O2 Sensors - DIY Project???

Before I spend the money on these babies, can someone please tell me whether or not the O2 sensors are a DIY project or do I need to have a shop do it??? I need to do the spark plugs this weekend and if I can do the O2 sensors along with the plugs, I will save myself some labor charges.

Thanks in advance!!!

Thank you so much - that's all I needed to know.

Guess I will take pics through the process so maybe they can post it on the home page (since there is nothing about it now).

Do you have CEL or this is just preventive maintenance thing? I am wondering if I need to get mine replaced as well.

Both - my SES light has been on for awhile and the codes are telling me the after-cat sensors are bad (hopefully - otherwise is is the cats themselves). Also, I have 121K miles on my X and they recommend replacing the O2 sensors at 100K, so I am overdue. I am going to go ahead and replace all 4.

I'd be very interested in how you get on with this project. I'd like to do mine so pictures would be great. Did you get the plugs and O2 sensors at the dealer or have you got a good parts supplier

Sensors are available from local auto parts store (Advance Auto) just like spark plugs.

Last time I checked the O2 sensors online, they were like $120 each so for 4 of them it could be a good change and some. I think you need that cut-out socket to remove and tighten them back on. Let us know, thanks.
