20" style 87 on 3.0i

I have a good lead on someone selling a used but in very good condition OEM 4.6is style 87 rims (9.5...275/40/20 front; 10.5... 315/35/20 rear) for about a $1k with diamaris tires already mounted on them.

On my search, I've read that these wheels will fit a 3.0i. However, since I have a 2001 3.0i X5 with sport package I want to be ABSOLUTELY sure that these new shoes will fit my X5. Would I need spacers?

I'd appreciate the feedback before I pull the trigger on this purchase.

Thanks in advance!

That is an excellent deal. The tires by themselves are worth $1K-$1.5k. So, you're essentially getting the rims for free. The OEM 20 should fit your 3.0i fine (no spacer needed). Go for it!

Thanks, DKL! The tires have plenty of miles left on them, too.

BUT under all listings for part numbers it always says the 20's are for cars with a built of 10/01+ appoximately,
i'm still wondering what is different with the 00-01 models that they don't specify to use those wheels on there too?
all i can think of is the steering (servo)

I was a little concerned about this, but I was worried for nothing. I finally met the guy and bought the 20" OEM style 87 rims w/diamaris tires. I got them installed this past weekend... and WOW! ...These 20" staggard look sure does makes a huge difference versus the stock 18" ones! They even compliment the 4.6is tips I bought from Morristown (which I had a local muffler shop install a couple weeks ago)!

I may just have to post photos later... for those still contemplating on upgrading their wheels!

Sure. I took some photos on my lunch break. I'll share some later.

Now I'm a little worried of catching the 'mod bug' like you! First the LED turn signal bulbs, then the 4.6 tips, then the wheels. Now, I'm thinking of lowering it... haha. But we'll see.

Btw, that's one good looking X have there!
