No auto rollup for rear window
The auto up works for all the other windows but not for one of the rear ones (this is from the drivers window switches and on the rear door itself). Any ideas? It's a 2002 btw. TIA Joe Last edited by villajoe; 11-18-2007 at 10:41 PM. |

does it go up at all, and does it go up by the switch on the door itself?

it goes up and down fine if u hold down the switch, but the auto up (one touch deal) doesnt work...and it's the same for both the drivers switch for the rear window and the switch on the rear door.
isnt there a safety feature that stops the window from rolling up? maybe the sensor is malfunctioning. |

I believe there is a pressure sensor, but I don't see why that would trip. Hopefully someone has a suggestion, if not, there is always the dealer.

This used to happen occasionally on our X3's rear right window. The auto-up would not work on occasion, and as a result the convenience close would also not work (I walked back from the store in shock, wondering why there was a gaping hole and thinking if something was stolen).
However, this is one electronic glitch that has stopped happening over time. I don't think its the pressure sensor, because in my case, the "non-auto up" position on the window switch would do nothing at all. Normally, you pull up a lil bit to roll it up until you let off; you pull it past the resistance point for the "express/auto up" function. But when it malfunctioned on the X3, pulling it a lil bit did nothing, and pulling it for the auto-up resulted in a "non-auto" up. |

Each window is individually programmed in the car's computer
if you look at the list of programming options, you'll see that each window can have the auto feature enabled or not.
i hope this helps. |
