Hi, I just bought my X5, a 2001 4.4i, and the window on the drivers side wont come down, not even with the remote keyless. I think the electric motor is burn. I've already removed my door panel, and I am trying to take the motor off, but I can't!How do I take it off, where are the screws of the motor, how do I take it off if my window does not work. I saw the DIY on door reoval to change the regulators, and it seems that the only way of taking rhe motor off, is to take out the window from it's base. But what can I do if the window wont come down and I can't take the screws from the base ass the DIY show??? Thank you!!! |

FYI, I'd replace the regulator first before the motor.

Thanks Wagner, but how do I know if it is the regulator and not the motor? How does the regulator look like?
Thanx!!! |

Pull the regulator out unbolt the motor plug it and the switch back in and see if the motor runs (check the thread about the air bag if you have to unplug it)
