Help switch CDMA to GSM phone

Need some help, tips on switching from a CDMA phone system to a GSM phone system on a bluetooth equipped 2004 X5. Is this possible, what does it involve? Any tips or pointers would be highly appreciated.

Simply go get a GSM phone and pair it with your X5's Bluetooth system.

How do you know that your X5 came with bluetooth. I just picked up a CPO 2004 X5 it has bmw assist, on the radio/dash it has a phone button on it and whenever I press it operator says verizon can't connect your call. I have AT&T...can this be programmed to use AT&T?

Sounds like you have assist (expired) and not bluetooth. If that is the case, you can get BT with a pretty easy plug n play retrofit for about $700

Some info. here

and loads of info in the BT section on the home page of this site

I was happy to read that there is a fix to my problem and you said its an easy plug and play but as I started to read on and saw the retrofit kit for the price of $700 then my jaw dropped!

Hmmmm...for $700 should I get :

1. Bluetooth kit
2. Titanium Dash Kit
3. Running Board
4. Steering Wheel

This definitely is an expensive car and hobby as well!
